One day, many years ago, my daughter came home from school and like all other parents I asked, “What did you learn in school today?” She said, “Don’t talk to strangers!” With the still proud smile on my face I then asked, “What is a stranger?” Her response, as she ate her snack,……. “I dunno”
That little conversation reminded me to start with the basics, ask questions, pay attention to their feedback and constantly reinforce. They do listen.
